He has given me suggestions on who to say what to, which I am doing even though it's hard and ordinarily I wouldn't. It's made me cut out people but they haven't been the best for me, but now i feel lonely because even though they may not have been the best for me, at least i had them as friends. Should I give things time to see the benefits in the bigger picture and trust her considering he is professionally trained?Would you force yourself to follow your therapist's advice even if didn't agree with it?
Yes, you should give it time and if this is a therapist you trust then trust that he is a trained professional and you are seeking his help for a reason.
I understand that it may be difficult but try to give it time and explain to him any difficulty you are having.Would you force yourself to follow your therapist's advice even if didn't agree with it?
I would. Whatever your problemis, it sounds like these 'friends' aren't doing anything to help your situation.
Just because your friends like you doesn't mean that they know what is going to make you successful. People need advice, especially when they are young.
He knows best, not me.
