Right well I'd say get yourself on an English Language course and become an English teacher. Then again, maybe not because you don't even know how to use the spellchecker, nevermind how to use actual punctuation.

just try your best and do not think that everything relies on you. if your team is no good then most will probably rely on you but if they are good then you just need to focus on doing your job and trying to not make mistakes. I made varsity as a fresmen but as a D-end.
This summer, hit the weight room during any optional workouts for the team. Hit the gym on your own. Most importantly, get with receivers and run routes during the summer. If you look sharp throwing balls without pads, it will translate.
*If the team goes to a football camp, make sure to go.
If senior linebackers are coming to you, toss the ball away, or pitch the ball to a Running Back. I got hit, and hurt my foot, when I was a freshmen, never played another game as starter.
Listen to your coach. He'll tell you better than any of us can.how to apply

I am going to Greece and I hate the food on planes do you have any advice to make me not feel sick?
I hate plane food... not only that but this year I'm going with 2 airlines (American from Dallas to a place called Gatwick in England and then from Gatwick to Greece with British Airways)... which makes me face the prospect of TWO separate meals on TWO different airlines. I always feel sick no matter what airline, even if I dont eat the food it will make me feel sick. Also it's the smell as well. Please send me advice.I am going to Greece and I hate the food on planes do you have any advice to make me not feel sick?
Just fall asleep for the whole flight and be sure to not wake up until you land. Failing this, just decline what the flight crew offer you saying that you 'Filled up on snacks at the airport', and then eat when you land.I am going to Greece and I hate the food on planes do you have any advice to make me not feel sick?
You can bring your own food; or eat at airport before boarding, bring breakfast bars, protein bars, and other snacks. (You can buy your food at the airport(fast food) and bring it on board with you. )
For the nausea, ask the doctor for something or to give you an over counter remedy.
Gatwick is the name of the airport in England. The flight from Gatwick airport to Greece will not be a long one.
Most airplane food is prepared in kitchens on the ground, it's not always plentiful but I've never had a really bad meal. You don't have to take a meal if you don't want to.
Bring some snacks instead and most airlines provide free non-alcoholic drinks, some even the alcohol is free.
you could order a special meal (asian vegetarian, moslem, kosher...) / as prepared in smaller batches, maybe would be more appealing?
try different airlines..be sure to check the meals and snacks offered or maybe search for recommendations
sit in first class they work harder on making most food either that or fall asleep the whole flight and eat in the airport

Have you ever been to Cozumel (Mexico) for your holidays? What is it like? Any tips/advice?
One of the things we did was rent a jeep and toured the east side of the island. There are some interesting bars, bring your camera the scenery is awesome. Pretty to look at but the water has surf, riptides and you need to be careful to stay close to the shore.
Go to Chankanaab National Park and swim with the dolphins or just go and snorkel.
In some of the smaller shops the Mexicans expect you to bargain with them.
Take a ferry to Playa Del Carmen.
You can use your dollars in Cozumel. No need to change to pesos. About 10 pesos =1 dollar.
If you take a cab always ask how much the fare is. (dollars or pesos) Taxi prices are very reasonable.
Enjoy your trip.Have you ever been to Cozumel (Mexico) for your holidays? What is it like? Any tips/advice?
Is a beautiful island. The only tip or advice i can tell you is enjoy it and relaxHave you ever been to Cozumel (Mexico) for your holidays? What is it like? Any tips/advice?
YES! Cozumel is great! I stayed on the south end and loved it. Here is a great web site for interested travelers. www.mycozumel.com. it is a forum which is very informational. Have fun!
I hope it hasn't changed too much since it just got hit by a hurricane a few days ago. We made a stop there on our cruise. The water was very clear blue. The kids and my husband snorkeled. The fish were so beautifully coloured. Snorkel at the National Park. It is inexpensive to rent the equipment and it's not crowded. There are lots of shops around with peddlers trying to sell inexpensive beaded jewelry. There are some nice shops that sell interesting souvenirs. Make sure you buy some margaritas. Be careful though, they make them strong! Watch out for the traffic if you try to cross the street. I hope I was imagining that they were trying to run us down. There are taxis everywhere to get you where you need to go. The drivers are a good source of info. Have a great time!!!

Why do some people find it necessary to be so rude when you legitimately ask for advice?
Lack of repect.
Anonimity allows for it.
Chin up.Why do some people find it necessary to be so rude when you legitimately ask for advice?
I know. I agree. You are just on here to ask for help or to give help and some people are just rude. Why do some people find it necessary to be so rude when you legitimately ask for advice?
Sorry, sarcasm IS rude, this site seems to need reminded when you are asking a legit question! Email me anytime lil sister!
Because people are generally unhappy, and it gives them pleasure to make others feel bad.
I always try to answer the legitimate questions with helpful information if I can.
Don't let them get you down. Of couse to answer a dumb question from time to time with levity is ok as long as you don't cross the line of being mean and condescending.
you know i really want to know this too b/c it has happened a lot to me lately. i think they just answer with random stuff just to get points.
They do not have manners.
I truly hope I have not stepped on any ones toes in here.
I am known to make remarks that might be offensive to some ,funny to others.
In general I answer with an open heart.
But at times there is this one odd question that just asks for a sarcastic reply, and being human..well..sometimes I just can't help myself.
So please do not take me to serious if I try to wisecrack on here.I am really a good guy.....and I can be quite serious too.
That's because they have nothing else to do, so they are obviously non-productive in anything they do. In other words, they are BORED and like to make contraversy (did I spell that right? )
They are rude %26amp; obnoxious.
Because they are smart asses. Ignore it. I've been a smart *** in my time and I expect a laugh from you. But its hard to tell how you will take it through print only.
I find laughter to be the best medicine, so I'm trying to make you laugh as well. No bad will towards you!
Some people only feel good about themselves when they can put others down. Sad, isn't it?
Perhaps because your question is misunderstood, or you have expressed yourself incorrectly, thereby prompting some of us with a sarcastic/humorous reply or simply because so many questions have totally no merit and are asked merely to get a reaction.
How does one tell if a question is sincere? When I believe it is sincere, I try to give a helpful answer. I am not offended when I get a wisecrack answer. Expect it, read it and laugh and move on to the more serious responses.
Another valid reason is the grammar is so bad or so many spelling errors that one can't make heads or tails of what they are asking, but you do not seem to fall under that category....smile
Because they want points, or can't really help you.
Some people are just rude and do it because they can get away with it because they are sitting behind a computer.
I guarantee you at least 95% of them would not be rude if you were to ask them face-to-face.
people today, to hide their feelings be sarcastic and most Americans are sleep deprived, therefore lean towards violence.
They try to prove that they are ';THE ONLY'; people who know stuff in this world
Oh boy, I so know what yuo are talking about. And I also hate it when people stare at you and whisper to their friends about you like you can't see them. Get a life.
Because they are jerks...and you should not let it bother you.

The good thing about advice is that you don't have to take it.
YOU are the only person who can decide what advice strikes a chord with you and what makes no sense.
If you expand this concept, you can ask a question as you have done and sort through the answers, ignoring what is obviously rubbish or rude and weigh up the pertinent information.
It's all a matter of perspective. You are asking for advice sincerely and also perhaps out of necessity - some people are answering light heartedly or from the perspective of wishing to inflict some of the negativity they feel themselves, on you. Other people will answer sincerely.
Ignore what you should, don't take it personally and take on board the good advice.
because they are human beings
Beacuse most people do things to annoy other people.
If it's in a forum such as this one, people can hide behind a mask of relative anonymity. They are just a screen name and little more, and the repercussions of their actions, at worst, will mean losing access to an online account. Their ';real'; world is not affected, their friends and family do not read or judge their answers, and they find a freedom ripe for abuse. Those who do this have not matured. They may simply be young, or they may have a sick need to vent their real-world frustrations on others. Displaced anger, I believe it's called. But for many, it's just simple immaturity that runs unchecked for a lack of accountability.
because they think when they have a bad day so should everybody else

If someone has no structure to his/her life and asks you for advice, what advice would you give?
That is an excellent question. I suspect that most of the answers you get will be about going to school and getting a job, but I went through a similar thing and I suggest that you don't worry too much about it.
A person can learn and grow even in the situation you described. Just follow your passion (if you have any) and your life will find it's purpose. If you don't have any, I would suggest some Yoga to keep the mind clear... and just take it as it comes.
Don't worry, it doesn't sound to me like you are doing anything wrong. If someone has no structure to his/her life and asks you for advice, what advice would you give?
one way to have structure is to structure your day. Make plans and follow them.
sometimes we dont have structure in life, because we dont know what we want (so we could learn about ourselves more). Or because we cannot have what we want.If someone has no structure to his/her life and asks you for advice, what advice would you give?
What one sees as structure, may look like baggage from some other perspective.
Love and blessings Don
Based on your description its hard to tell if that person indeed has no structure. Some people enjoy having a lifestyle devoid of routine.
If it is as you suggest and this person is really a mess, I would tell them a story about someone else who was able to improve their financial situation by doing a) b) and c). In other words, you aren't lecturing him or her, you are just telling a story of how someone got their act together by being disciplined. This way you aren't nagging and instead giving them a subtle suggestion.
Don't try and build any pyramids: they definitely need structure.
I would tell them to take and RCIA course and become Catholic. It is the best thing I have ever done. The whole world makes so much more sense now.
ps I am not talking about the perception of Catholicism that you read about in books and newspapers, but the real thing as per the Vatican and the Catechism and the Bible.
As far as he is concerned, he has structure to his life. Obviously he is satisfied with freelancing, family, and friends.
You are asking for advice for him.
When he askes for advice then I would give it. Otherwise it is none of your buisness or anyone elses
If a person from the past ages were brought forward to the present, he would not have understood how a simple aeroplane could possibly take to the air, and fly. He may have understood that it is some machine made to go very fast on land. He may also have figured it out, upon the sight of its wings that it sure is made to fly somehow, but he would not have found out how. How, for instance, something can fly without flapping its wings - which a plane cannot - like a bird does?
This fact of the secret is in the design of the wings, in the simplest of all the features in the aircraft building. In fact that the top of each wing is curved and the bottom is flat, allowing the air over the wing of a moving plane to flow faster than the air passing under the wings. And the fast air over the wings causes a difference in pressure above and below, in turn producing lift. But this simple scientific fact would have been invisible to the most curious eyes of our friend from ancient times.
This is just like human mind, or human life. When idle or standing still, human mind does reveal its true potential. But when put in some purposeful use it reveals its hidden potentials. As the water in high altitude reservoirs keeps its potential energy stored, and until it is allowed to flow we never see the power its rapids.
If your friend is mobile, but aimless then he sure needs to have some purpose identified for his life. The example then could be that of a seed rolling on ground with gusts of air unable to take its hold in the soil. But until that seed keeps rolling its true characteristics will never be know, now even to himself. Just like water in a reservoir, and a plane standing upon a runway could not make any difference a person, like as a rolling stone that would gathers no moss. He will never realise what he might have found if he had tried just a little hard for one thing.
If a person has unstructured life,it means that he is aimless.Unless person has got an ';aim in life'; structured life is not possible. If there is aim, there may financial or physical bottlenecks to achieve the aim.One has to identify the factors resulting in an unplanned life.If sombody comes to me ,I will have to ask many questions to find out a solution.
The world work by cause and effect theory.Unless you identify the cause ,required effect cannot be created. For anything there will be a cause, even for un planned life.
to first get some structure in their life, unless the question was 'how'
routine, job security, less partying and boring things like that
provides a platform to do other things
Figure out what is important to them and set goals. Where do they want to be 20 years from now? Then sit down and make up a list of steps that will help them reach those goals.
And to remember we all fall into ruts, the important thing is learning how to get out of them and not make that rut ';home';.
Go to church and get involved in some of the works there, make new friends and work towards the same goals. Don't get discouraged when you fail or are hit with trials ~ let those make you stronger and wiser as you work to get back on your feet.
Life can be happy but we have to make the right choices. Don't just follow the crowd, do what is right for you, things that will make your life complete.
Be responsible for your actions and be ready to apologize when needed. Take pride in who you are and set a good example for others.
Be honest with others but especially be honest with yourself. You can't solve a problem if you don't admit to yourself what the problem really is so if you need to change your attitude, do it, don't make excuses or blame others.
Believe in yourself and keep your sense of humor because you will surely need it to get through rough times.
Webmaster Guidelines
Following these guidelines will help Google find, index, and rank your site. Even if you choose not to implement any of these suggestions, we strongly encourage you to pay very close attention to the ';Quality Guidelines,'; which outline some of the illicit practices that may lead to a site being removed entirely from the Google index or otherwise penalized. If a site has been penalized, it may no longer show up in results on Google.com or on any of Google's partner sites.
Design, content, and technical guidelines
Quality guidelines
When your site is ready:
Have other relevant sites link to yours.
Submit it to Google at http://www.google.com/addurl.html.
Submit a Sitemap as part of our Google webmaster tools. Google uses your Sitemap to learn about the structure of your site and to increase our coverage of your webpages.
Make sure all the sites that should know about your pages are aware your site is online.
Submit your site to relevant directories such as the Open Directory Project and Yahoo!, as well as to other industry-specific expert sites.
Design and content guidelines
Make a site with a clear hierarchy and text links. Every page should be reachable from at least one static text link.
Offer a site map to your users with links that point to the important parts of your site. If the site map is larger than 100 or so links, you may want to break the site map into separate pages.
Create a useful, information-rich site, and write pages that clearly and accurately describe your content.
Think about the words users would type to find your pages, and make sure that your site actually includes those words within it.
Try to use text instead of images to display important names, content, or links. The Google crawler doesn't recognize text contained in images.
Make sure that your TITLE and ALT tags are descriptive and accurate.
Check for broken links and correct HTML.
If you decide to use dynamic pages (i.e., the URL contains a ';?'; character), be aware that not every search engine spider crawls dynamic pages as well as static pages. It helps to keep the parameters short and the number of them few.
Keep the links on a given page to a reasonable number (fewer than 100).
Technical guidelines
Use a text browser such as Lynx to examine your site, because most search engine spiders see your site much as Lynx would. If fancy features such as JavaScript, cookies, session IDs, frames, DHTML, or Flash keep you from seeing all of your site in a text browser, then search engine spiders may have trouble crawling your site.
Allow search bots to crawl your sites without session IDs or arguments that track their path through the site. These techniques are useful for tracking individual user behavior, but the access pattern of bots is entirely different. Using these techniques may result in incomplete indexing of your site, as bots may not be able to eliminate URLs that look different but actually point to the same page.
Make sure your web server supports the If-Modified-Since HTTP header. This feature allows your web server to tell Google whether your content has changed since we last crawled your site. Supporting this feature saves you bandwidth and overhead.
Make use of the robots.txt file on your web server. This file tells crawlers which directories can or cannot be crawled. Make sure it's current for your site so that you don't accidentally block the Googlebot crawler. Visit http://www.robotstxt.org/wc/faq.html to learn how to instruct robots when they visit your site. You can test your robots.txt file to make sure you're using it correctly with the robots.txt analysis tool available in Google webmaster tools.
If your company buys a content management system, make sure that the system can export your content so that search engine spiders can crawl your site.
Use robots.txt to prevent crawling of search results pages or other auto-generated pages that don't add much value for users coming from search engines.
Quality guidelines
These quality guidelines cover the most common forms of deceptive or manipulative behavior, but Google may respond negatively to other misleading practices not listed here (e.g. tricking users by registering misspellings of well-known websites). It's not safe to assume that just because a specific deceptive technique isn't included on this page, Google approves of it. Webmasters who spend their energies upholding the spirit of the basic principles will provide a much better user experience and subsequently enjoy better ranking than those who spend their time looking for loopholes they can exploit.
If you believe that another site is abusing Google's quality guidelines, please report that site at http://www. google.com/contact/spamreport.html. Google prefers developing scalable and automated solutions to problems, so we attempt to minimize hand-to-hand spam fighting. The spam reports we receive are used to create scalable algorithms that recognize and block future spam attempts.
Quality guidelines - basic principles
Make pages for users, not for search engines. Don't deceive your users or present different content to search engines than you display to users, which is commonly referred to as ';cloaking.';
Avoid tricks intended to improve search engine rankings. A good rule of thumb is whether you'd feel comfortable explaining what you've done to a website that competes with you. Another useful test is to ask, ';Does this help my users? Would I do this if search engines didn't exist?';
Don't participate in link schemes designed to increase your site's ranking or PageRank. In particular, avoid links to web spammers or ';bad neighborhoods'; on the web, as your own ranking may be affected adversely by those links.
Don't use unauthorized computer programs to submit pages, check rankings, etc. Such programs consume computing resources and violate our Terms of Service. Google does not recommend the use of products such as WebPosition Gold鈩?that send automatic or programmatic queries to Google.
Quality guidelines - specific guidelines
Avoid hidden text or hidden links.
Don't use cloaking or sneaky redirects.
Don't send automated queries to Google.
Don't load pages with irrelevant keywords.
Don't create multiple pages, subdomains, or domains with substantially duplicate content.
Don't create pages that install viruses, trojans, or other badware.
Avoid ';doorway'; pages created just for search engines, or other ';cookie cutter'; approaches such as affiliate programs with little or no original content.
If your site participates in an affiliate program, make sure that your site adds value. Provide unique and relevant content that gives users a reason to visit your site first.
If you determine that your site doesn't meet these guidelines, you can modify your site so that it does and then submit your site for reconsideration.

I would advise that person to analyze themselves and determine what is most important in his/her life. Once they do that, put those things in order from most important to least. Priortize in that order and pray to God for organization and success.
i always say charity work... rspca or horse rescue or something on the web........hardly any people doing charity stuff drink and usually genuine...hope this helps mark b
Well that would depend why they have no structure. Is it due to illness, disability, unemploment etc. Cant really answer that question until I know those things.
Make a list of what they want from an ideal life - everything from the material things like where they want to live and what sort of car they want to the intrinsic things like how they want to feel about their job what sort of partner they want and work backwards from each goal setting smaller targets along the way.
i.e if they want a well paid salaried job. they may have to dtart by going back to school or getting a very low paid salaried job.
If they want to marry a certain type of person they may have to change the places they go to.
Just make sure everyone knows it is a long term process and you can't settle down over night!!
I'd say they are on the right track. Seriously. Everyone IS always exactly where they are supposed to be. It's the ';think you SHOULD be somewhere else'; or ';have structure to his/her life'; that is the problem. If this is you--You are Okay. If this is somebody else - Don't try to fix him.
i would tell her trust in yourself and go one without any limits and try to follow your heart but must of all trust inGod cause he will help u!
I do more or less the same thing, but successfully. I don't know why, but I work a lot less than everyone I know, and I make more money than all of them. If you still think settling down is the way to go though, get pregnant. Otherwise, I'm afraid that settling down is not in your nature.
Make pages for users, not for search engines. Don't deceive your users or present different content to search engines than you display to users, which is commonly referred to as ';cloaking.';
Avoid tricks intended to improve search engine rankings. A good rule of thumb is whether you'd feel comfortable explaining what you've done to a website that competes with you. Another useful test is to ask, ';Does this help my users? Would I do this if search engines didn't exist?';

Sounds like you spend a lot of time at a computer or driving......you need some relaxation techniques and excersises, shrugging shoulders and leaning you head from side to side often during any time you feel you neck tightening. I tend to get a slight burning sensation that warns me to take a break and stretch and tilt. If I do not catch it in time I use Ice, on 20 min and off, if that doesn't do it i add heat and run it in a cycle ice on ,heat on, stretch, tilt, and repeat. I also do have a script for a muscle relaxer as I have had a known diagnosed pinched nerve at C6 c7 for a long time.....I have a constant pain on my back close to my neck. You will have the best chance of getting a grad scholarship when you apply directly to the college you are planning to attend. Talk both to the financial aid office AND the department you are going to. For a year I was told the department didn't give out scholarships, but I never gave up... my second year there I miraculously had a scholarship from that department on my award letter.
Good luck
Hi, Hope!
I like your nickname, it`s cute. To make the story short, I have already applied to college and got acceptance, so as for the scholarships - go to the osap.gov.on.ca - it is governmental site, everything is written there, you wouldn`t be confused for sure! I wish you all the best in your studies...

He'll tell you better than any of us can.

Bring some snacks instead and most airlines provide free non-alcoholic drinks, some even the alcohol is free.
you could order a special meal (asian vegetarian, moslem, kosher...) / as prepared in smaller batches, maybe would be more appealing?
try different airlines..be sure to check the meals and snacks offered or maybe search for recommendations
sit in first class they work harder on making most food either that or fall asleep the whole flight and eat in the airporthow to apply

From http://fatburner-diet.blogspot.com/2009/02/10-weight-loss-myths-to-waste-your-time.html
More articles here http://fatburner-diet.blogspot.com/
Losing weight – and most if it should be fat – is important for people who are overweight, in terms of body mass index (BMI) and waist circumference. It is also important for athletes, bodybuilders and recreational body shapers who want to get rid of those last few pounds.
With weight loss, it seems as if everyone has an angle, but most strategies are useless or insignificant.
What works for weight loss is to burn more calories in physical activity than you consume in food calories -- an excess of energy used compared to energy consumed. If you doubt this in any way, consider what happens to people on starvation diets in prison or who’ve been lost at sea or in the wilderness for many weeks or months with insufficient food. The body eventually uses all stored forms of energy, including muscle, to support itself for as long as possible. Then you die, mostly in a skeletal state.
But during weight loss (intentional or not), the body does try to prevent this happening — and this is a survival mechanism developed over several millions years of human evolution — by lowering its energy-burning rate in response to low-calorie consumption. The human body makes changes in all sorts of ways to adjust to changing circumstances. This is called “homeostasis.”
Variations exist in how much weight individuals can lose in response to diet and exercise, but in the end, changing energy balance is the only major thing that matters. I make this point because trivial approaches such as drinking green tea or eating chili peppers or drinking coffee (caffeine) or taking some herbal supplement or other may have a very small effect on fat loss that could easily be negated by the body adjusting to that challenge over time by altering its metabolism. Consistent deficits in energy intake and expenditure over months and years is what you need to concentrate on.
Here are 10 weight loss approaches that could waste your time:
1. Eat According to Your Metabolic Type
The origin of this idea in the modern diet business can be traced to The Metabolic Typing Diet. The general idea dates from the 1970s and perhaps even before that.
The premise is that we all have a “metabolic type” — an individual metabolism that can be manipulated by dietary choices. According to this, we all fall into three metabolic types. And how do you know your metabolic type? Usually, the practitioners of metabolic type diets ask you a range of questions about your body shape, natural food choices, energy levels and many other things. Some may charge for blood or urine tests.
No doubt, you will soon be offered a genetic test that is supposed to identify your best nutrition and training habits based on your genes, which, presumably, create your metabolic type. Already similar services are being promoted to health and fitness enthusiasts — for a fee of course.
There is no evidence that metabolic types have any validity for weight management or fitness training, including weight training. Our genes can influence how our bodies works, but genes are not faultless determinants of physical function — or behavior for that matter. Genes interact with the environment, in this case, with food and physical activity. The idea that we have a metabolic type that reacts rigidly to diet in a certain way because of a genetic component is false, or at least only partly true. Food and exercise are just as likely to change the way these genes function as genes are to demand certain foods for health, perhaps even more likely.
2. Don’t Eat Carbohydrates Because They Turn to Fat
This one still persists, even after all the debunking that has been done. It is a persistent myth of misplaced emphasis that derives from the low-carb diet movement. First, some carbohydrates can be converted to fat and stored, but this is only significant if you overeat. Fructose in corn syrup and cane sugar is more likely to do this than glucose from starches, such as grains.
Second, even if some carbohydrate turns to fat, it is not permanently enshrined in some fat larder on your hips, legs, belly, arms and butt until the end of history. Mostly, you can burn it off just like you can burn off dietary fat that is eaten and stored. What matters is the total calories you consume and the energy calories you expend.
3. Eat Foods that Boost Metabolism or Decrease Appetite
While it is true that chemical substances, such as amphetamines, boost metabolism so that you burn more calories and this helps you with weight loss, amphetamines are powerful substances and few naturally occurring herbs or extracts have this type of effect. Or, if they do, products, such as ephedra, may not be safe for casual consumption. The FDA says ephedra is unsafe.

Other plant-derived substances touted as useful weight loss supplements are caffeine, capsaicin (chili), gre

Christians can you give me some advice?
I am so tired of my sister. She starts arguments with me. calls me names and everything. what should I do? should I just laugh it off or walk away?Christians can you give me some advice?
That's what sisters do, but deep down inside we still love them.
How old are you? if you're young and living with her you'll find that when you grow up and move out your relationship will be much better.Christians can you give me some advice?
I can give you all kinds of advice from an older person's point of view- and it is not easy to actually DO it, when one is young.
I DO remember what it was like as a teenager- fighting with my older sister. I had to share a tiny bedroom with her and we were such opposites in High School. She was very neat and clean-I was total lazy slob.
She didn't like my music- she was very good in school- I was the goof-off. We fought like cats and dogs.
Being young- I had no wisdom, I was very rude myself, and didn't want to give in to any sort of compromise.
Looking back- I could have made an effort- she would have responded. After we ';grew up'; we were very loving sisters and friends, but teen years can be rough.
You CAN try sitting down with her one day and saying- ';you know I just hate these fights- I think sisters should be friends and allies against the rest of the world- what can we do to change this friction??
You have to be willing to let her vent if she starts doing so. Maybe she is just mean... maybe she has some legitimate beefs.
Best to try. Sisters can be THE best friends you have, it is worth trying.
ONE of the things that helped our sisterly relationship was the fact that I did move out of our bedroom! LOL I took my stuff down to our then unfinished basement- I thought that was better than sharing a room. And it was. I didn't care if I lived with the spiders it was better to have my own space whereever it may have been.
Turn the other cheek?
Two monks were washing their bowls in the river when they noticed a scorpion that was drowning. One monk immediately scooped it up and set it upon the bank. In the process he was stung. He went back to washing his bowl and again the scorpion fell in. The monk saved the scorpion and was again stung. The other monk asked him, ';Friend, why do you continue to save the scorpion when you know it's nature is to sting?';
';Because,'; the monk replied, ';to save it is my nature.';
I don't know how old you two are so it is hard to say if she will respond maturely or not. If she is always fighting and arguing there is a reason for it. Either you are irritating her or she is being unreasonable. You need to determine which of these factors is in play then address it. TALK with her. Clear lines of communication can not be beat for solving problems. Once you two speak honestly and openly you can figure out a way to address the issue with love and respect.
If I were in your shoes (and I have been) I would pray hard and ask for guidance in finding and using the mildness of the Spirit, Love, and kind words that will help to figure out the problem and solve it. You might be surprised how praying can help open up communication.
Blessings
Just try to ignore it or tell her how you feel. As long as you forgive her, then you will be fine in God's Eyes. God Bless!!
Walk away. If she knows you will always respond she will keep doing it. If someone never rises to the bait then it just gets boring. Pretend you don't hear.
I do hope it works. x
She's trying to provoke you to anger so laugh it off and ignore her because she does it for attention.
God bless.
Walk away it states in the bible not to tolerate people like that. You dont have to listen to the name callings and still love her once she gets rid of her tantrums
no you should kick her right in the rectum
ask her directly if you are doing something that bothers her. then ask her why she wants to start a fight. A gentle answer turns away anger; so when you deal with her dont come off as self righteous. ask her if she wants to talk it over with your parents; tell her you dont want to live like this and give her some options; like be nice or leave me alone...if she doesnt stop bring it up with your folks butr try to work it out with her first. ask her what you can do that would make things better.. good luck..some rivalry is normal with siblings I hope it works out.
Just love her, be kind, go out of your way.
If nothing else, she will be so confused, she'll panic.
Walk away and ignore her remarks.
Jesus forgave those that hung him on the cross...he asked God the Father to forgive them

Do You Think This Is Good Advice For How To Handle Your In-Laws?
In one ear and out the other, yes them to death, but do what you want.Do You Think This Is Good Advice For How To Handle Your In-Laws?
NO.Do You Think This Is Good Advice For How To Handle Your In-Laws?
No! You are married to their child and therefore in their lives for the rest of your life. If you do not want to get along with them, then sure, use that pathetic advice. Otherwise, it's best to listen to what they say and if you have a problem with it, let them know (in a nice way of course). For example, if you don't like their parenting advice, tell them that you appreciate the advice but you read about something else you want to try, or that you want to try the way your parents did things.
Um, not really. And here's why:
After a while, if they're not stupid, they're going to catch on that you don't listen to one thing they say. Nobody likes to feel like a fool, and that's what you make people feel like if you just say yes to everything they say, and then do the exact opposite every time. While I believe in-laws need to back off at times and let their children sort out their own marriage issues, I also feel that they deserve a certain amount of input on things such as their grandchildren or family holidays. My future mother-in-law has what I would describe as a very different personality from my own, and I have a feeling that my child-rearing style will differ somewhat from hers in the future, but if she has some good advice for me, I'll definitely listen to it. However, if she has advice that conflicts with my own philosophy and I don't plan to do it her way, I'm going to have to tell her so- nicely, of course. I'd say something like, ';Thanks for letting me know what worked for you. If what I plan to do doesn't work out for some reason, I'm going to give your suggestion a try.'; That way, she feels like I listened to her, but she also knows that I want to try it my own way first. This can be applied to lots of situations: cooking, home decorating, child-rearing, etc. I really don't expect a lot of problems, though- I think my future MIL and I respect each other and can see how each other is important in my fiance's life, without overstepping boundaries.
A recent comment from my in-laws said it all......';We really didn't like you when we first met you. However we soon realized you were not being disrespectful by asking for advice then doing what you wanted, but rather gathering information to make your own decision. You weren't being mean or arrogant when you would joke ';have to give you something to talk about your DIL about!'; usually following a 'lively' conversation, but rather you had enjoyed the exchange of ideas and verbal sparring in a comfortable situation. I treated my in-laws as individual adult people and considered myself the same. 24 yrs later, we love, respect and appreciate each other. In a number of years, you will be a MIL.
Would you appreciate being treated the way you suggest or would you prefer to be treated as an adult. Don't forget, they have started at the same starting point your at now!
My future MIL can be pushy with her ideas. I always tell her that I will talk to her son when we get home. Then I tell him my opinion. We talk about it and he tells his mom about our decision. Sometimes we go with her ideas if it's good and sometimes we don't. And yes, sometimes we just go along to make her happy. But after a few years, she learned more about our taste and make better suggestions now. So I don't think it's a good idea to just say yes to them and ignore their opinion.
I'm not sure they would thank you for being a ';yes person.'; Be yourself, act responsibly, have an opinion, and show them some respect. We're all entitled to our own opinion and to do what we want and we must respect the fact that we're all individuals and have our own views on things. In laws have to respect that too!
I don't know.
I guess I'm one of those obnoxiously lucky girls who has an absolutely wonderful relationship with my future in laws, especially my MIL.
I treat them just like I do my parents, I even go stay at their house some weekends when my FH is out of town on business.
I think that you should work at the relationship with them, so that even if you aren't close, you won't ever feel like it is your fault.
yes and no. if you have difficult in laws and succeed in letting thing wash over your head then you must be doing something right. if you manage to make the peace and they start treating you with respect even better.
mine dont like me and don't want me around and think i am not good enough for FH. he on the other hand thinks i am too good for him. its really sad how difficult they are making both our lives.
YES! finally some one who understands.
IN LAWS will always be there and have some wacked out way of handling things,! my mother in law is a mess! but she thinks that she has the best advice on everything! her son is a grown A** man he can take care of his self!!!
No, that is rude and disrespectful to them. Don't think they won't know that you yes'd them and then went and did something different anyway. They would feel a lot better about your disagreements if you talked to them and explained why your opinions differ.
I would listen to what they say but it's up to you how to handle the situation.
Oh and i hate when people say you marry the family when you married your husband. So wrong!
no..when u get married REMEMBER U MARRY THE FAMILY.. its totally not worthy putting up with them if they are mean and rude (like tha lady on ';MONSTER N LAW';) cause they will make ur life hell....even tho u love ur partner
I listen to what they have to say out of respect then do what I think is right.
Unfortunately, that's how I'm going to have to handle my future M.I.L. So, yeah. :)
Respect them while maintianing what is right for yourself.
yep pretty much what I do when It comes to my in-laws.. Except with them... I don't answer the phone 75% of the time. hehe...good luck. :)
Not at all.
wouldn't you feel that your own parents deserved more respect that that from your fiance?

What is the best piece of advice you have ever received, and did you listen to it?
Live each day like it's your last!
Yeah I listened to it.What is the best piece of advice you have ever received, and did you listen to it?
not to kiss the bosses butts at my new job, yes i listened to it. Kissing butt is just another way of playing politics, and I hate all forms of politics. People who kiss up usually end up quitting when they find out it usually just gets them more work, and no respect from the supervisor. What is the best piece of advice you have ever received, and did you listen to it?
Many years ago, I bought a bottle of white spirit from a hardware shop. Around the top of the bottle in raised print as well as in Braille and Moon, were the wise words:
';Do not drink. Keep away from children.';
(Americans: Please ask an English person to explain this to you.)
When my gran found me crying when I was in my early teens, she gave me a hug and said, 'remember this pet, nothing will matter to you in 100 years time'
I thought it was good advice and still recall it when I'm upset
';Never change for anybody... You'll soon become mentally exhausted from trying to become somebody else, just be yourself.';
I'll remember those words forever.
never pass a bathroom,

Never trust what you read on the internet.

That I should become a Christian, and yes I listened.

What advice do you think would have been great to know then, something you know now but didn't realise then.If there was one piece of advice you could give your younger self between the age of 16 and 25?
Pay attention in school. Go to a good college. Even if you have to sacrifice some social life because you don't have the money - go. Get student loans, do whatever it takes.
It is OK to not have a boyfriend/girlfriend, enjoy getting to know you - don't date someone just because he/she is so cute you can't imagine life without him/her, but he/she is not treating you with the respect you deserve. If there was one piece of advice you could give your younger self between the age of 16 and 25?
I`d advise myself to stop smoking.
Don't stay in a relationship with the man you LIVE WITH...
Find the man you can't LIVE WITHOUT!
%26amp;
Make YOURSELF happy :-)
Stay in school, get a job and save my money, keep singing and further my career in that, and especially stay out of relationships. They rob you of everything. And last but certainly not least, Never Ever drink alcohol and do drugs.
great question! i would tell myself to be more outgoing and confident in the bedroom. get naked and strut my stuff cause no matter what ,my size we wouldnt be there if he didnt want me and theres nothing sexier than a confident woman who knows what she wants!
Lighten up! It always works out in the end.
There are a few things I would warn my younger self.
1. Warning! don't get caught up in the credit card lifestyle. Once you start relying on them you will pay for them the rest of your life. Always try to keep it Cash only!!!!
2. Lust doesn't equal love. Learn the difference and learn to love yourself before you love another.
3. Its better to have one true friend then a million so called friends that vanish when things get rough.
4. Never stop learning. Even the little things in life make your life better.
5. Be an example to others. Make sure the person they see before them is someone they would want to be like.
6. Money isn't everything and it doesn't buy happiness
7. Vote. Its your life so make sure you choose leaders that reflect your beliefs, that listen to your concerns and work to make this world better for everyone
8. Family is important. Don't let a death or tragedy be the reason you see them.
9. take risk, have fun and stress less
10. keep laughter in your life.how to apply

Safe in Shanghai for westerners? Any advice you could give?
I should be traveling to Shanghai with my dad this year and I want to know how safe it is for westerners. Is it violent? expensive etc?
And if you could give the same information about Tokyo as I might be going there too, and compare it with Shanhai, it would be much appreciated. ThanksSafe in Shanghai for westerners? Any advice you could give?
I have never been to tokyo, but I have been to shanghai and spent time there on my own. I stayed at the eaton hotel, which was just across the road from a subway station, which I used to get around. I always felt safe, the chinese are very respectful to women, although they do stare a lot, they don't touch. I used the high speed magnetic train to get to and from the airport, then the subway. I walked around on my own and had no problems at all. You will get approached by people trying to sell you fake goods, if you aren't interested a firm NO and keep moving will do the trick. I had a great time, and felt very safe.Safe in Shanghai for westerners? Any advice you could give?
it is an extremely safe place. however dont be rude to the locals. as she said, be persistent on saying no. dont ever look too interested in any item.

What can I do with women's studies major? 10 points for the best advice. Thank you?
What types of classes offer for women's studies majors? BA and MA.
What type of jobs? What can I do with women's studies major? 10 points for the best advice. Thank you?
With a Women's Studies major, you would possess all of the requisite skills and knowledge to be Assistant Manager at Burger King.
After about three years as a fry cook, that is.
Were I you, I would begin practicing up: ';Fries with that?';What can I do with women's studies major? 10 points for the best advice. Thank you?
There's always Wal-Mart.
Ha ha ha, drjj1967's and 50/50 to 50's answers are the truth!!
You can do anything you want to. A good humanities degree is an entree to further study and a base for many types of jobs.
As well as working in women's services, you could apply for a position in an NGO or Not-for-Profit organisation, or a corporate position that interests you.
The only thing that will hold you back is to insist on pigeon-holing yourself.
Cheers :-)
If you see it through to a masters or a P.H.D. you might be able to teach it. Other than that it's not a very marketable degree.
Other then the three Fereshte pointed out I really cant think of anything......honestly your better off majoring in something else and minoring in WS's
maybe psychology or history major's
i will agree with ya....the classes are a lot of fun!
Good luck!
I guess you can go into Human resources on some company.
There are very select things you can do with a Woman's Study major (and it depends on your specialty).
1) Research. If you're going into women's history, for example, you can go into research programs that help research area's of women's studies.
2) teach. With an MA you can be an adjunct professor at most public colleges. Its not bad pay though if you're going to go this route I suggest the full PhD and go for professor. Its harder but the money is considerably better.
3) writer. You can write articles/books--preferably based off of your research. This is a good route if you like to write or have a talent in it, but probably the riskiest of the three.
I can't think of much more than that. There's very little you can do in this day with a BA, no matter WHAT you're studying so I say go for at least the MA. Know what you want to do before you go for it, though. You don't want to spend all that money and then be left with no job or a job you don't like.
Talk with your advisor at school. He or she will be able to guide you to job options. If you're just starting school, chances are your major is going to change at least once. ^_^ It happens to the best of us.
Law School.
i think you may do better with it as a minor. for example, i'm a professional writing major, emphasis on Journalism, but i'm a WS minor because i want to eventually write about women's issues. therefore, i can still get pretty much any writing job, but when the time comes, i'll have the knowledge and education to write about what i really want to.
but with a WS major, yo can do many things. like Cassis mentioned, (and thanks cassius for not being a sarcastic jerk like the others) you can work in any human relations. you could also find yourself working for any woman's organization.
like any degree, just having a degree enables you to get a good job more easily.

ROBERT: that is discrimination and ignorant as well.
Social work and counselling (with extra study and practice) , service coordinator (like for crises centres and such); public relations, human resources, historian, researcher; statistician, journalism, teaching, public education, health promotion.
I have to agree with Robert. As a hiring manager, your responsibility is to the company, not society. So, just because you think it is a great cause, many in society don't, and the company surely won't. In fact, the company HR department will try and weed out the trouble makers before they ever step into the building, and people with a cause are seen as troublemakers, so you probably won't even get an interview.
Sometimes the truth hurts.
I highly recommend taking business or social work. These two have a lot of potential. I took general arts in university (women's studies is in this category) and there isn't much out there unless you want to go for the PhD and be a professor. Look in the classifieds in the ';Professional'; section and see what degrees are being asked for. I'll bet there's a lot that require business/accounting or social work. A BA in business or an MA in Social work will open a lot of doors.
Women's studies is good but maybe not as a sole study. It might be a good idea to supplement it with a complementary study. Maybe Psychology, or Sociology for instance. If you branch your studies out you will find a much wider array of careers that you can apply your training too. ( women's counselor, Sociologist with a specialty in women's studies ).
Starbucks is hiring. With a PHD in women's studies, they will start you off as an assistant manager.
I can't give you any advice, but I will put you in touch with someone who can. She minored in WS, I believe, but you can send her a message and I'm sure she'd help.

Perhaps you can google the topic. The permutations are endless.
Become a Women's Studies professor! (That's about it, sorry, hun.)
It really does not seem as though it's a very marketable major.
I know if i worked in corporate America and a resume came to me and said the candidate was a women's studies majors their file would be going in the potential lawsuit file to never be seen again
You could get a job teaching on a college campus or work in politics or for a Non-profit organization
Unavailable- maybe, but is something worth considering when choosing a major, if your going to choose a subject that interests you over one that applies to your field of study, be aware that it may hurt you in the long run
It's hard enough getting a decent job these days with any humanities degree and oversubscribed subjects like sociology, media studies and psychology (despite the wide interest) tend to have no job focus. Anyone believing they they can come out of university and be on the employment short-list is in for a disappointing shock.
It seems the best opportunities are in science/technology. But not everyone can or wants to pursue science courses and so they need to make well-informed and considered decisions about what their chosen study can provide in terms of a career.
A versatile, intelligent person can turn their hand to many things and it's not uncommon for people to end up having a career in something not determined by their study. Shutting yourself into a niche can be intellectual and career suicide.
Drink orange juice. At least that's what I'm doing right now.

Do you find it annoying when you have question on a topic you want advice on yet silly q's get more answers?
and your left hanging around waiting for an answer if you even get one decent one and nonsensical ones get waaaaaaaay more sense in their answers??? lolDo you find it annoying when you have question on a topic you want advice on yet silly q's get more answers?
The tough ones require thought, patience and good grammar.
Who wants to make that kind of effort when others are asking if you think their boyfriend is cute?
Give it time, post the question again in another category and relax. Someone will offer help eventually.Do you find it annoying when you have question on a topic you want advice on yet silly q's get more answers?
Yes, but you take the good with the bad. I love Answers..

I'm a 21 y/o senior at a university. I feel like I've wasted the my college years. I don't even have any photos tagged on facebook b/c I haven't been out or done anything. A lot of people tell me I'm nice/sweet/caring/etc. but that's really all I have to show for myself. I've missed out on exploring and want to cry. How can I make up for it?May you please give me some advice?
It's never too late to have fun. Besides...if you play your cards right, the years after college/uni can be as fun as or more fun than college/uni. Explore while you can and have fun. Trust me. It's not too late. LIVE!May you please give me some advice?
you can't be someone that you're not. Maybe you just haven't found the right kind of people to hang out with yet or it's just not the right time for you. You're only 21. At 21 i thought my life was pointless. I was going out and getting drunk here there and everywhere with a bunch of so-called friends - trying to fit in and be like other university students but it made me even more depressed. Just being part of it doesn't mean you're gonna be any happier.
Do what feels right for you, don't just try to be everyone else!!!!
first off, i don't nkow if you are a guy or girl, so i'll try to be open as possible to both...
going out doesn't necessarily equate to having a good time... not all experiences are good ones. Find activities you enjoy... sports rec leagues (competitive to the point where they are fun), join a gym (yoga, cycling, just plain old working out freeweights/running) i recently joined a gym and met a lot of new people... dont get caught up in the whole ';oh i have so many facebook pictures'; phase, facebook is fun yes, but it is not an accurate picture of ones life and decisions...
i suggest joining your local Y, or gym, meet new people... go to happy hour with some friends, enjoy a regular sunday afternoon at the bar eating wings and havin a few beers...
im 21, working on co-op, meeting new people on a daily basis... the best part of my day is my lunch hour when i go to the gym and get a solid workout in, talking to the people i have met there... but that might not be your style... whatever you enjoy in life, do that! don't fall to peer pressures, but don't be afraid to pursue whatever your heart tells you...
Stay into the Eternal Now. You cannot do anything about yesterday. You don't even know if you have tomorrow. You have TODAY:) Make yourself a Bucket List, and do what you can do, TRY OUT lots of things as long as they don't hurt YOU or anyone else. Have Fun:)
your 21 for god's sake, you have plenty of time to have fun and make good/bad memories, dont panic at all, age means nothing. have fun
21 is still young. You have a long way to go, start having some fun.
its never too late. never. do the things that make u happy. thats it dont be afraid of missing out on life just be happy stop being so pressured...
How can you make up for it??
Get out there!! Make some friends! Get some plans for Spring Break ASAP! Join a club! Enjoy your last semester.. especially since you are 21 and can get into any bar/club!
Believe me when I say you have your whole life ahead of you.
You need to get out and live life, do some traveling!

Gone (By Switchfoot)
She told him she'd rather fix her makeup
Than try to fix what's going on
But the problem keeps on calling
Even with the cellphone gone
She told him that she believes in living
Bigger than she's living now
But her world keeps spinning backwards
And upsidedown
Don't say so long, and throw yourself wrong
Don't spend today away
Cuz today will soon be
Gone, like yesterday is gone,
Like history is
Gone, just trying to prove me wrong
And pretend like you're immortal
She said he said live like no tomorrow
Every day we borrow
Brings us one step closer to the edge (infinity)
Where's your treasure, where's your hope
If you get the world and lose your soul
She pretends like she pretends like she's immortal
Don't say so long
You're not that far gone
This could be your big chance to makeup
Today will soon be
Gone, like yeterday is gone,
Like history is gone,
The world keeps spinning on,
Your going going gone,
Like summer break is gone,
Like saturday is gone
Just try to prove me wrong
You pretend like your immortal your immortal
We are not infinite
We are not permanent
Nothing is immediate
We're so confident
In our accomplishments
Look at our decadence
Gone, like Frank Sinatra
Like Elvis and his mom
Like AL Pacino's cash nothing lasts in this life
My highschool dreams are gone
My childhood sweets are gone
Life is a day that doesn't last for long
Life is more than money
Time was never money
Time was never cash,
Life is still more than girls
Life is more than hundred dollar bills
And roto-tom fills
Life's more than fame and rock and roll and thrills
All the riches of the kings
End up in wills we got information in the information age
But do we know what life is
Outside of our convenient Lexus cages
She said he said live like no tomorrow
Every moment that we borrow
Brings us closer to the God who's not short of cash
Hey Bono i'm glad you asked

She has an very itchy/painful bottom and a rash around her buttocks. She can pass stools normally but afterwards she experiances intense itching. She is unable to sit down now and last night it was painful for her in bed. We are both in our 40s and average weight. Could someone who has maybe experianced the same offer advice, We have been waiting for a doctor to call back for a number of hours,,,,,please help us,
ThanksCould some of you kind ladies offer us some advice.?
painful itching and redness can be a sign of piles, even internal ones can cause pain and itching they dont have to be external to cause problems, it can flare up after a trip to the toilet.Could some of you kind ladies offer us some advice.?
it could be piles. cream from chemist
SHE schould visit a doctor...
Could be almost anything from worms, to a fungus to herpes to something else? If a fungus, you could try an anti-fungal cream. Fungal infection would be from constant moist conditions back there...ie sweaty, or not wipe good enough...
sounds like worms...what i know about worms is that is an infection in felines, and then humans can get it passed on to them from close contact with the feline..still, go to the doctor!
I don't know sounds like a nightmare. Let us know what the doctor says. Take a long bath with aveeno
hmm... sounds like worms to me! nasty buggers!
It could be anything, such as piles, perianal abscess, anal fistula, anal warts, worms, fungal infection. Don't apply ANY creams until she has been seen by a doctor - you could make things worse.
Are ya talking about yer ***** dude or what?......
this could be a fungal infection try cannistin cream
she may have worms
Im going to go out on a limb here and say its a really intense yeast infection, they can be really painful, cause major itching and get bad fast. Yeast loves, war, dark, moist environments, so your bottoms are easy victims. You can try monistat which usually comes with some cream you can use on the other skin. People who are diabetics are three times more likely to have a yeast infection.

HELP need advice do you have a full set of dentuers?
only have a few good teeth left going to have some pulled and have to be put to sleep as i am a coward
the dentist says a full set is a nightmare and i should try and save the ones left
advice pleaseHELP need advice do you have a full set of dentuers?
It's up to you ~ you have to weigh up the pros and cons very carefully ~ do you know anyone with a full denture set ~ if so ask them how they get on with their dentures ~ once you have decided tell the dentist what you want ~ but do be very sure it is what you want ~HELP need advice do you have a full set of dentuers?
Do your best to save the ones you can for as long as you can, it's better to have something for the denture to grip on to than just gum.
Also, have you considered implants? It's pricey but might be worth it long term.
I would also reccomend you try some implants. Dentures supported by teeth are good, but if you can get some implants under them, I would think you would be happier
I really don't know what to tell you. But all I can say is think about it really hard and try to save the good ones as long as possible thats all I can tell
only you can decidehow to apply

What is her issues? 10 points for the best advice. Thank you?
My host mom is in her 50s. She is currently a teacher in Baltimore City Public School. I have been known her for 5 years. She has been struggling with her teaching jobs in the areas for all those years.
She always tells people that her bosses dislike her because she is an African American and has her Master's from John Hopkins University. She believes her bosses are racists or intimidated by her education. the unfortunate truth is every years she has been asked not to come back to work AKA she gets fire.
I know for facts that she is a kind and loving lady. Althought I tend to think she is not the best worker because she likes to talk and does not get her jobs done as fast as others. She is now distress and depressed because she thinks her bosses treat her unfair.
What do you think? What is her issues? How can she improve herself?
P.S. I am only 22. She always talks to me about her problems. I feel obligate to give her my thoughts.
Thank you so much for your kindnessWhat is her issues? 10 points for the best advice. Thank you?
I assume your worried about your host mom because you feel indebted to her. These are her problems not yours. When you blame the world for your problems you are not going to improve yourself. Look inside first. You cannot change other people only yourself. Listen to her. That's fine. You are in a different growth period than she is. Your going for your masters. That's all you need right now. What is her issues? 10 points for the best advice. Thank you?
Why does she believe all her bosses are racist?? Maybe she might be a bit racist you never know. I have found that people who tend to scream racism tend to be themselves racist as they pick up on any little item that the other people do and if they dont like it then they say they are racist. We all have to get on in this world and maybe if people didnt talk about racism it wouldnt be such a bad place. When I was a little girl I never knew such a word existed!!
It is a shame that this lady feels so low about herself and so good of you to care.
She has many issues low self esteem, low self worth and lack of confidence is just a start.
She is in her 50's not only is this a difficult age due to hormone changes but she was also born in an era of great racial tensions.
I would imagine that many years ago when she was a younger women or even child she come across many predigest against her however she has worked hard and proved herself by having the career she now has which must have been hard in her time.
She carries the past around like a mentor and lives in that past thinking that everyone is racist hence her attitude. She is not being sacked for her colour she is being sacked for her negative attitudes.
We live in a multicultured society today and i would imagine your University is multicultural so would not carry these pregidist and be horrified and do something about it if there was.
She needs her confidence, self esteem and self worth boosting up is there a way she can develope something at Univeristy that embrases and teaches things from her culture? You have said she is a great talker so she would love to talk about her culture and share it with others.
You could ask her about her youth and did she face any difficulties becoming a teacher.
The key is to find the key and unlock it IE What started off this bad feeling that people do not like her because of her ethnic background.
I know not a brillant answer but it may be a start along with other answers you may be able to help her to be honest the only person who can help her is herself in the end.
She is so lucky to have you to try to understand. Her reality is what she believes whether it is true or not. America is a nation built on unfair treatment of many of its citizens. Racial and gender issues have always been legitimate concerns and discrimination still exists. She has grown up and been required to overcome these issues as well as more personal ones. All of these things encompass the personality and development of this woman. Also she is going through a period of change in her life where her physical roles are ending. It is difficult to transcend. Understand and sympathize.
She is a very lucky lady to have you caring for her so.
I think sometimes there is a self fulfilling prophecy, in that we believe something therefore everything that happens feeds into that belief and makes us believe it more.
For instance if we used an example that was not about racism and I said that Ifelt all the bosses I ever had we intimidated by me because I am taller tha them, each time they gave me feedback I didnt like I could say it was becasue I was taller than tem and they didnt like it. This would make me believe it more and more.
I am not saying what she says is not true, I am saying it is her belief that it is true.
She may have some self esteem issues, given her clear intelligence she will be able to overcome them if she is able to admit she may be the manufacturer of her own discomfort in at least some part. Its hard but we all do this belief thing at some point in our lives.
I wish her and you well.
well i think she should work in a teaching school where her bosses are black or work in a religious school coz they believe in fairness to all cultures and race
she has low self esteem and needs to quit worrying..
you have to be honest with her, if your not she will continue to make the same mistakes and get herself in trouble. tell her exactly what you wrote, and that you will help her make changes to improve at work but she needs to change her attitude and want to help herself before you can do anything. when she realises how much you care it will make her more determined to make changes and it might be the right push she needs to get her back on her feet. it sounds like she just has some insecurities, talk them over with her it might make her feel better to get them out in the open. i hope it all works out well.
Tell her to flatter rhe boss. Always works and doesn't hurt her feelings.
First of all you used the words,'obligated to give her my thoughts', and that is too bad, because you sound like a caring person who is getting too caught up in someone elses problems who apparently doesn't mind dumping them on you. No matter how nice a person is, nor how much we care about them, they don't have the right to always dump their problems on us. The main issue with your friend as I see it, is that she is still playing the blame game. No matter a persons age, the 'blame game' is a sure hallmark of immaturity. Until she stops blaming others for her problems, and starts looking at herself nothing will change for her, no matter what you say.
Well, teaching is tough for starters; and if you are the Jr faculty member and enrollment drops; they would have to let you go.
That being said, maybe she isn't as effective of a teacher as she thinks she is. (not that I would say that to her)
Perhaps if she looked for a position outside BCPS in the neighboring county or in a private school. Maybe she tries a different grade or subject; something to enliven things a bit.
She might try changing her curriculum up; take a few education courses from UMBC.
I seriously doubt they are intimidated by a MA Hopkins; most principals I've met in Fairfax county (and I have met alot) have Ph.Ds and alot of teachers have MAs.

What is the best business book you could ever advice?
i want a book about how to get rich ? i want to be rich so badWhat is the best business book you could ever advice?
Lazy man's way to riches. by Joe KarboWhat is the best business book you could ever advice?
read ';the millionaire mind';... and ';the millionaire next door';..
excellent books... the author surveyed over 700 real millionaires. Their annual income is $750,000 a year or more..... and their net worth is from $4.2 to 9.2 million bucks!
they have no debt.... they are not typical of what you think a millionaire looks like... or what TV says one is... TV and the media have it all wrong.

'...a Project Assistant position...'. This is assuming that 'Project Assistant' is a specific job title and as such would be capitalized. If that's not the case, '... a project assistant position...'A basic grammar help. 10 points for the best advice. Thank you?
I am intrested in applying for a project assistant position.
the term ';project assistant'; is a position in a company, not a company itself.
similar example: I am interested in applying for a dental assistant possition. it would be incorrect to forgt the ';a';.
I am interested in applying for a Project Assistant Position. (if there is more than one available job)
I am interested in applying for the Project Assistant Position. (if there is only on Project Assistant job).
If you're applying for a job, good luck!
I am interested in applying for a project assistant position.
The second option but do not capitalize ';A'; or ';Position';
Only capitalize ';A'; when it begins a sentence. Also, position in a common noun so that should not be capitalized either. (Actually, you can lowercase project assistant also, but it would be acceptable either way)
I am interested in applying for a Project Assistant position.
is project assistant position an organization?
that you help you with whether or not it needs a capitalized ';a';
or it could possibly be other, where nothing by the word ';I'; is capitalized. maybe its ';a project assistant position'; (uncapitalized)
First.
It sounds like an organization.
And Titles and names dont Capitilize the word ';a';
I would like to apply for the position of Project Assistant.

What Products could you not live without / can't live with... trying to do my registry looking for advice!!!!
Any info on where I can find the good products or why I should avoid others would be appreciated!!
I have done my research and have a some picks already; just wondering what real world experiance people have had with baby products
I am 17 weeks pregnant with my first and am not finding out the sex. What Products could you not live without / can't live with... trying to do my registry looking for advice!!!!
here's some practical (not necessarily needs, but I'd never want to live without) Disposable changing pads made by Huggies. They are the greatest invention. Keep them handy for sanitary restaurant changes, unexpected car changes, visiting family/friend changes. Also, diaper duckies (available at Target for sure) they are smaller, fit right into your diaper bag, rubber duckies with a blue tubular container that holds a roll of bags for disposal of diapers. The plastic bags are convenient for everywhere. They keep the diaper smell in the bag and make clean up super easy. (No diaper geanie needed) PLUS the duck design on top helps calm fussy babies while being changed. Also, Wet-Ones face and hand wipes. I keep them everywhere. THey're good for a quick clean up on changing tables/pads, counter tops, as well as messy dirty hands and faces. It makes it so much easier to keep things sanitary and clean while caring for a baby. Those are my can't live withouts. They're inexpensive and the more you have the better.... oh and... congratulations! What Products could you not live without / can't live with... trying to do my registry looking for advice!!!!
My daughter would be STARVING when she woke up, and would go from sleeping to screaming in 2 seconds. My life saver was this product from Babies R Us-it was a bottle cooler and warmer that you put in the nursery (or wherever). You make the bottle at night, and let it sit in the fridge for like 2-4 hours, I think, then, you can put it in the cooler (it has a section that you freeze beforehand) and it will last overnight. When the baby wakes up, you put the bottle in the steamer for like 15 seconds and PERFECTO-bottle is ready. It was the best thing I ever used!
if you live in a cold area definitely get one of the fleece car seat covers.no need for a jacket for baby.simply zip it up and when the baby inevitably falls asleep in the car and you bring them in the house ,just unzip and they wont overheat...and you wont disturb them either!
I had my first child and also had no idea what to ask for in my registry. Here are some ideas.
Choose a feeding system. Don't worry about a bottle warmer or sterilizer, but pick out a set of bottles (you don't want a bunch of mismatched ones it could confuse the baby, and I was always switching nipples and caps between bottles). I breastfed my son for the first 6 months, and when I went to work he used Playtex Premium Nurser system. They use disposable liners, so you're not always washing the whole bottle. They helped my son keep nursing when I got home because they're slow-flow silicone nipples. The large bottles are much better than the small ones because the baby can use them when he/she grows bigger and eats more. My son still drinks from these bottles at 11 months when he's not using a sippy cup.
Take him all the diapers you can get... but only open one pack at a time so you can take them back for a bigger size if you need to.
Don't get a wipe warmer, it burns a bunch of the wipes on the bottom and it's not necessary. Warm them in your hands before a diaper change if you're worried they will be cold.
You can never get enough sleepers. I was confused at first about all the different styles of clothes, but in the beginning sleepers are the best thing because they are just one piece covering your whole baby, s/he can wear them all day and all night. Get at least 7 to 10 so you can go a few days without doing laundry--you wont have time for laundry every day.
I had a diaper genie, but i never got the hang of it and always just used a big trash can with a lid and changed it often.
A changing table is not totally necessary, but is sure a big help and I loved mine! My son has just now outgrown it. I reccommed one.
When your baby is a newborn s/he won't have a big interest in toys, but s/he will grow in to them. A Mobile might be of interest to him/her, something that lights up and plays gentile music.
I always wished I had gotten one of those travel systems, where the car seat detatches as a baby carrier and that becomes the stroller seat too. Your baby will go to sleep all the time at first, especially in the car, and when you're going out you don't want to wake him/her to put him/her into the stroller. That would have been really convenient.
One thing I loved was the pack-and-play. I used the top bassinet on top as a downstairs crib, and when my son got too big for that its also a play pen. He still uses that.
Hope this all helps. Congratulations, and good luck!
I got pretty much all the basics from my shower, and it really helped a lot. I had no idea what to put on either, since it was my first, but a friend helped me, and we did pretty good. Here are some of my suggestions, I'm sure you have already thought of most.
* Swing - I had the travel size, fisher price w/ music and a couple toys and a mirror - used it A LOT!
* Stroller w/ carrier - I LOVE IT!
* Musical mobile for crib - not on my registry, but someone bought as a gift for me - fisher price classical chorus and lights - my daughter still uses it to this day (she's 2 now)
* baby monitor - a mid priced one, the cheap ones don't work
* high chair - one that folds up
other basics -
bottles
onesies - some of all sizes
diapers - newborn and size 1
wipes
bath tub
bath supplies (lotion, oil, wash, nail clippers)
towels
washcloths
bibs
burp cloths
pacifiers
thermometer
nose sucker thingy
crib mattress pads (2)
crib sheets
crib set (comforter, skirt, etc.)
bassinet pads
bassinet sheets
lap changing pads
receiving blankets
some thicker, bigger blankets
sleepers
I don't like my diaper pail - it was a gift, not chosen by me - just safety 1st from walmart. It always falls apart and doesn't do anything with the smell. May I recommend a trash can and some lysol?! lol
My registry was done at Walmart, so that's where the majority of my gifts were from. All of the bigger things I have had no problems with. Stroller was Graco, high chair was Evenflo.
You sound like you are doing a great job planning ahead. I had lots of light green and yellow, since I didn't find out the sex either. Gives you an excuse to go shopping after the baby is born, for some blue or pink stuff! Congrats, and good luck with everything!
Diapers, You don't need the baby comforters because you are not supposed to use them with baby, bottles if you are not breastfeeding, a breast pump if you are breastfeeding, baby blankets the receiving blanket kind are great and can do double triple or more duty they make great burp cloths way better than the actual burp cloths. Green and yellow are neutral colors for sleepers blankets etc. since you will not know the gender in advance
You dont need 3/4 of the stuff out there. Things you do need include a car seat, a baby bath tub, diapers, wipes, a stroller, a crib, sheets and blankets and clothing.
You dont need a diaper genie. They are more trouble then they are worth. Just get a pail with a lid.
one zee's and spit towels you can never have enough. also Diapers and instead of a diaper Genie get a diaper disposal can that closes and you can use normal garbage bags for. Diaper Geanies get expensive. also a bottle warmer is great. ohh and cordless monitors.'
OMG, TWO WORDS
';DIAPER GENIE';
After that, the things that I used the most were our carseat, our bassinet, our baby wash tub, Balmex, the nasal aspirator the hospital gives you, wipes (lots of those - we love the CVS Soft Cloth ones in scented), Halo Sleep Sacks, a couple of receiving blankets, a binky or two, and seriously, Gerber footie pajamas that zip, not snap (those snaps can be h*ll at 2AM).
We loved shopping at Babies R Us too... They have EVERYTHING you could dream of...
Congrats on your little one!
* Stroller w/ carrier - I LOVE IT!
* Musical mobile for crib - not on my registry, but someone bought as a gift for me - fisher price classical chorus and lights - my daughter still uses it to this day (she's 2 now)
* baby monitor - a mid priced one, the cheap ones don't work
* high chair - one that folds up
other basics -
bottles
onesies - some of all sizes
diapers - newborn and size 1
wipes
bath tub
bath supplies (lotion, oil, wash, nail clippers)
towels
washcloths
bibs
burp cloths
pacifiers
thermometer
nose sucker thingy
crib mattress pads (2)
crib sheets
crib set (comforter, skirt, etc.)
bassinet pads
bassinet sheets
lap changing pads
receiving blankets
some thicker, bigger blankets
sleepers
