What advice would you give Holden Caulfield?

whining won't get you anywhere. People won't change otherwise. Don't let them get to you. Try to find things you like doing. Don't buy hookers at the age of 16. You're probably the biggest phonie of all. What advice would you give Holden Caulfield?
That if you hang in there, one day you look up and you are in college, and a lot of those things that seemed so awful when you were in high school don't matter any more. And when you get out of college, and get a job with a living wage, you can detach yourself from all these people and ideas and angst. Of course, along come other people and ideas and angst, but somehow the older you get, the easier it gets. Or, as a mentor of mine used to say, this too shall pass.
